January 2009 Efficiency Newsletter

Technology does not create productive people. We do.

Happy 2009!  I hope the bleak economy hasn’t trickled too far into your company… if it has, perhaps some of the thoughts below can help.  As for us, we’re chugging along but would love any proposal automation or PowerPoint design needs you hear of.  In the mean time, I’ll keep promoting AwayFind (we love press, know any?).  As for news, we’ve been in the Baltimore Sun, I recently spoke at the GBTC, and I’d love to see you at Ignite Baltimore, where I’m speaking next week.

From Technotheory: Looking Ahead at 2009

In the new year, it’s a time to reflect while looking toward the upcoming possibilities.  Now that we’re just about through January, why not ensure we’re holding onto our new ambitions?  I’ve gone through the process, and I hope it helps you here:

A Tool Worth Revisiting: Google Analytics

If you have a website and a little time this month, I’d highly recommend that you spend some of it clicking through your Google Analytics statistics.  You’ll see some fascinating data about how people are arriving at your website, how long they’re spending there, where they’re clicking, and generally how effective your site is.

Google keeps adding new features…and regardless of how technical you are, you’ll quickly figure out enough to give you a lot of new information.  For starters and for something new, go to the Content tab and click Site Overlay.

If you don’t have Google Analytics set up, talk to your web technician or set it up yourself, it’s free.  If you want more information, try googling “Google Analytics tips” :).  Happy analyzing!
